John Kersley- Director

John originally studied graphic design at university, however during the holidays he worked as a groundsman for a large private school in Suffolk. It was during these summer months that the penny dropped and he realized he wasn’t cut out to be desk-bound for the rest of his life! Combining his creative flair and design ability with his love of the outdoors he chose landscaping and after further study of garden design, construction and horticulture his dream career began.

Initially getting his hands dirty by learning the trade he progressed and gathered valuable business experience as contracts manager for a commercial landscaper, covering the east of England on a number of large projects. The last twelve years have been spent honing his domestic landscaping skills with two large companies in East Anglia – specialising in high end domestic commissions.

As senior contracts manager he was responsible for running several teams and sub-contractors, tackling a wide spectrum of work – from roof-top terraces in London to large country gardens in East Anglia.

John has worked at nine RHS Chelsea Flower Shows for various companies as well as managing the construction of fourteen APL (Association of Professional Landscapers) medal-winning gardens.

He loves what he does but when it’s raining you may find him behind the desk again!
